Description:

The inner city area of the city of Wilhelmshaven is drained by a mixed-water system, the sub-basins are each assigned to a pumping station. In the event of high rainfall events, the two pumping stations discharge mixed-water, whereby the South pumping station discharges into the Jadebusen. In order to improve the hygienic and aesthetic situation of the Jadebusen in the area of the South Beach, a 5.5 km long DN 1200 pressure line was laid between the South pumping station and the Wilhelmshaven central sewage plant and the pumping capacity of the South pumping station was increased by 7,000 m³ / h.

The line runs about 1.3 km in the inner city area and about 4.2 km in the outdoor area. The selected route was adapted and optimized by focusing on continuous maintenance of the road traffic, the preservation of the tree vegetation as well as further economic aspects. Furthermore, the near-surface groundwater levels and the insufficient load-bearing subsoil
had to be considered.
